i take a lot of breaks.
probably not really good.
i revised on ethanol yesterday.
dehydration of ethanol
ethanol --> ethene + water
*catalyst of CONCENTRATED sulphuric acid
and at 170 degrees celsius.
oxidisation of ethanol
ethanol + [o] --> ethanoic acid + water
oxidising agent: potassium dichromate(VI)
>> goes from orange to dark green.
ethanol + sodium
ethanol + sodium hydroxide --> sodium ethanoate + water
--------------
Batch Process of Ethanol:
Fermentation of Sugar (sugar cane)
glucose + yeast --> ethanol + carbon dioxide + wter
___ Yeast contains enzymes that convert sugar *glucose* into ethanol , H2O and CO2.
^ mixture of ethanol and water seperated by fractional distillation
If air is present--->creates ETHANOIC ACID.
*slow
*uses renewable sources (sugar cane)
*produces ethanol + carbon dioxide
_____________
Continuous Process of Ethanol:
Hydration of Ethene
ethene + steam (water) --> ethanol
CONDITIONS -- . 300 degrees celsius
. under high pressures
. with catalyst phosphoric acid
*fast
*using non-renewable sources [crude oil]
*produces pure ethanol

senior music concert 2009
alice smith is great you know. thanks to the rich daddies and mammies, the kids are so exposed to great instruments [and teachers too?]
i wished i learnt how to play the piano.
or violin.
wahhh. thinking about it makes me chuckle >__<
the music concert this year was absolutely wonderful. the theme was movies and all the music was from significant movies. i was very happy they had the pink panther, wallace and gromit and the maple leaf rag. *whee*
here are the highlights and my fantastic commentary that came with <3
There were these two kids that played the bagpipe to amazing grace... Isn't that just awesome?! On the second night they wore kilts. LOL. ftw!!

Then my favourite piano trio <3!!! consisting of Aoi, Lucy and of course, my Eun Hye lalallaa!!! I find that they really understand each other in playing the piano. i was blown away. like always <3.
wait. im gonna go eat dinner.
brb.
okay im back <3.
dinner; dominoes. how healthy~

aoiii

lucy's sexy back

another performance which i really liked was this solo by ________________ [yet to find her name] who sang a song from toy story, it was really lovely <3

-->
the closing performance was the choir with hallelujah with tika in lead!!
real nice performance. Tika's got a lovely bass voice it gave me shivers ><

What a trip. What... a trip. It was so jokes ^___^ i loved it so much. It was like... a mixture of a family vacation/sight seeing trip/badminton tournament haha. The driver was so lost when he was trying to find the hotel >__< poor bloke.
Well. What to say huh? So many memories~ The most funniest things that happened on the trip most likely the transformation of Steven. *sighs* must be tough being the youngest one there.

SEASAC ART 2009
So it is officially one week since i was in SEASAC arts. It was a wonderful experience, drama, art, and dance crammed into 3 days ><
i opted for dance, because... who can say no to a fusion of indian/malay/chinese dancing?! dude!
Learning a dance outside of my comfort zone was really a brilliant experience, the other girls were so lovely and the teachers were really inspiring.
I wish i could pursue in dance.
but who am i kidding right? lawl~
On the night of the gala dinner we got to see classical indian dance, lion dance and our own malay dance *sofia you rock <3*
i was clever enough to need to pee and as a result, bumping into the other dancers who i got to take a snap with:

wheee~.
you jealous?
better be.
BWAHA.
Also got a picture of me and sofia before our performance:

its too bad we didnt eat.
it was a simple performance, but the butterflies kept on growing and growing O__O.

this is thian yaa fang <3 she's so cute right? our Chinese Dance teacher, the dance was so fun i couldnt stop smiling like an idiot whenever we did her dance~

me with Chi Hee. so cute that girl, i wish we had more time cuz then i'd ask her to teach me the Tell Me dance hehehe.

and this is nina ^
so pretty right?
damn tall O__O (senior basketball team)
great posture.
*envious*
beautiful dancer too~
Took photos of the mural pieces the art department did, these have to be my favourite though;

and

nice right?
really big.
i wanna do this. round up my art friends and have this massive collaboration for the sake of it. kyehe
